Ushering
You don’t need any previous experience to usher with us. Ushering is a relaxed role that only really requires a welcoming attitude.

To sign up as an usher, join our Film Unit House Staff Facebook page. Put your name in the column for the screening you wish to usher for, and make sure you arrive at 19:00.
Your role
A house manager will meet you in our auditorium before the screening. They will brief you about your role and provide information about our ticket policy, conduct rules and anything else you need to know.
The benefits
In exchange for your help, you can stay and watch the films you volunteer at for free. This is perfect if you would like to see a couple of free films and don’t have much time to give up.
Ushering is a great way to see if you’d like to become more involved with Film Unit, many people start out as ushers before considering a more demanding role so they can get a taste of how our screenings run.
